YAVATMAL: In a significant move toward promoting menstrual hygiene and breaking social taboos, the Rawbit Foundation organized a comprehensive health and hygiene workshop at Montessori Shikshan Mandir, Montessori Primary School, and the Women’s College of Education in Yavatmal.
The event commenced with a tribute to Savitribai Phule, the pioneer of women's education in India, as guests performed a ceremonial image worship. The program was graced by several prominent figures, including Principal Jayashree Upadhyay, newly elected Municipal Councilor Sangeetatai Bobde, and Rural Seva Mukti Trust District Coordinator Madhuri Chaudhary.
Focus on Health and Hygiene
The primary objective of the workshop was to provide adolescent girls with scientifically accurate information regarding menstruation. Key topics included:
The importance of hygiene and healthy habits.
Dispelling common myths and misconceptions surrounding the menstrual cycle.
Guidance on using clean sanitary pads to prevent infections and related health issues.
Empowering Students
Following the instructional sessions, the foundation distributed free sanitary pads to all students in attendance. An interactive Q&A session allowed the girls to openly discuss their concerns and clarify doubts in a supportive environment.
Members of the Rawbit Foundation, including Director Mayur Bhoyar and Public Relations Officer Prashant Borade, were present to facilitate the event alongside school staff members.
